I'm travelling. Greece right now, but this changes fast. Open to remote work or relocation.

What you can buy

Build the system · 3–6 months, monthly. Elixir/Phoenix backend, concurrent pipelines that hold their shape under load, database-backed job queues, LiveView UI, tests you can trust. You talk to the person who writes the code.

Harden what exists · 2 weeks. Queues, workers, transactions, locks, observability: the parts that break at 3am.

Put AI where it earns its place · 2–4 weeks, fixed scope, fixed price. You have a prototype, a half-built RAG pipeline, or a chatbot that answers wrong. I audit retrieval and ingestion, build the evaluation harness you're missing, and leave you with a pipeline you can measure and ship.

I don't take frontend-only tickets, on-site-only roles, or spec work before a contract.

How it starts

  1. You write three lines: what you're building, where it hurts, what has to change.
  2. A 30-minute call. I tell you whether I'm the right person, and say no if I'm not.
  3. A written scope: what changes, in what order, by when, for how much.
  4. I start. Progress arrives as commits.

When we should talk

  • You need a senior engineer who owns the backend all the way to deployment.
  • Your Elixir/Phoenix product has to stay fast and correct as load grows.
  • Queues, workers or transactions lose work, and you want that fixed for good.
  • You're adding LLMs or RAG and want it built on a system that holds.

Where I've worked

Really Trusted (Elixir/Phoenix/LiveView developer, remote, Vancouver) · 2021–2025

3.5+ years structurally scaling the application: designed an internal queue-like framework on an asynchronous model backed by database transactions, with Phoenix PubSub broadcasting row-level lock and data-upgrade notifications across the ecosystem. Oban-based ingestion guaranteeing transactional safety and zero data loss across restarts. OAuth2 security configuration, containerized Moodle LMS integration, PDF/CSV document generation pipelines, extensive test suites and system-wide hardening.

IFAD / United Nations (Ruby on Rails consultant, Rome, partially remote) · 2019

Built an automated translation reporting engine for global IFAD-supervised operations: less friction in international reporting pipelines, automated summaries delivered securely to government representatives worldwide.

Packhelp (senior backend developer, Warsaw) · 2018–2019

High-traffic Rails/Spree production app: API design, custom operational scripts and rake tasks, native integrations with BaseCRM, Intercom, and Segment, modular React UI features, and leading a dedicated developer squad in Agile/Scrum.

United Signals (React.js/Redux + Rails developer, remote, Germany) · 2017–2018

Built and shipped an MVP for user interactions in the financial services market.

Xing (React.js/Redux + Rails developer, Hamburg) · 2017

Full-stack tasks focused on modern frontend patterns; deep fluency in the Jest testing framework with a high standard of client-side code coverage, inside a structured Scrum group.

Chimera Prime (Rails full stack developer, Warsaw) · 2016–2017

Corporate client's high-availability backend (Rails 4/5, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, Ansible, AWS) plus infrastructure stability work; mentored a junior developer on a secondary production project.

Bluebox AS (Rails full stack developer, remote, Norway) · 2016

Secure backend API for a physical medical device helping patients with diabetes (Rails 5, PostgreSQL, React/Redux). The venture closed after failing to raise its next round.

Kontomierz (Rails full stack developer, Warsaw) · 2016

Advanced core security systems and feature rollouts for Kreditech's "Monedo Pay" digital wallet: refactored core exception handlers and rewrote the test suite for the full project.

CodeQuest (junior Rails full stack developer, Warsaw) · 2015–2016

Core engineering on LiftHero, an Uber-style ride-sharing platform for senior citizens. Owned payment workflows: integrated the entire platform with Stripe. The startup scaled down before its next round.

Ecom Media (web developer and Linux server administrator, Warsaw) · 2014

Cross-functional web programming (frontend layouts, relational database design) plus provisioning and maintaining multiple standalone Linux production servers.

Freelance webmaster and graphic designer · 2010–2013

Full-cycle webmastering for individual clients: search visibility, responsive styling, custom digital graphic design.
